The multicolored "untitled (chronicles de pacha)" is composed of acrylic and oil paint, ink, and paint chips, arranged in geometric patterns at varying scales. The formation and repetition of the patterns echo structures found in the built and natural world, and the iterative quality of ritual practices. The title "pacha" refers to the conception of space-time in Andean cosmology. In ancient Incan mythology, the cosmos were divided between three realms, or pachas—hanan pacha (the upper world, of the gods), kay pacha (the world of human beings), and uku pacha (the underworld, realm of death and new life). These realms are distinct, but connected through physical features and temporal correlations between past, present, and future.
