"Laura" is one of a series of textiles by Lanceta named after the artist's friends who have left a significant mark on her life. The eponymous "Laura" is an art teacher at the Royal Academy of Art in London, and the co-curator of Lanceta's major survey exhibition 'Weaving as Open Source,' with Nuria Enguita. She is a theorist and the editor of the magazine Concreta. "I built her personality through sewn stripes that create a unit," Lanceta says.
